The Inbound destination management companies (Thompsons Africa & Planet Tours) are well established and geographically well represented and offer significant opportunity for the future while Thompsons Holidays has been the market leader in South African outbound tour operation for 30 years.

Thompsons Holidays (Previously Thompsons Tours)
Thompsons Holidays is a travel wholesaler with offices in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town. It trades with retail travel agents throughout Southern Africa. The division distributes travel products for a wide variety of destinations catering primarily to the leisure travellers who live in Southern Africa.
Destinations include South Africa itself, Africa, the Indian Ocean Islands, Europe, the United Kingdom, the Far East and the America’s. Apart from the arrangements that are sold to individuals, products requiring in- depth knowledge and experience such as Cruising, Ski Holidays, Escorted Tours, Incentives, Conferences and Events are handled by specialists within the company.
The Division is headed up by Mark Buck, previously of Holiday Tours. Mark has 17 years of experience in the South African Travel Industry.

Thompsons Africa
The incoming division is a destination management company supplying fully inclusive arrangements in South and Southern Africa to through a World Wide network of blue chip International Tour Operators.
Services provided to passengers include airport meet-and-greets, transfers, sightseeing and fully escorted tours, guaranteed departure seat-in-vehicle tours, group tours and fully inclusive services.
The Division has satellite sales offices in Singapore, Tokyo and Osaka as well as receptive offices in Johannesburg, Hazyview (for Kruger Park), Cape Town, Durban, Hluhluwe, Port Elizabeth (for the Garden Route), Windhoek, Victoria Falls, Livingstone and Kasane (Chobe).
The division has a staff complement which includes foreign-language-speaking guides and consultants who are fluent in Mandarin, Arabic, Japanese, French, Italian, Russian, Spanish, German, Dutch and Portuguese and this reflects the geographically diverse nature of the Divisions’ customers.

PLANET AFRICA TOURS
Planet Africa is the leading Destination Management Company in Southern Africa dealing with the Japanese & Korean travel industry. The Division is a 50/50 joint venture formed between Cullinan and four partners in 2006. The division specializes in Group travel from Japan to Southern Africa, particularly South Africa and Zimbabwe. It is currently in the process of developing a web presence in Japan and Korea to offer individual travel products to consumers

THOMPSONS GATEWAY PTE LIMITED ( SINGAPORE)
Gateway is a sales office specializing in Incentive, group and individual travel from the Asia to Southern Africa. The office is located in Singapore and calls on customers in Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia & the Phillipines.
While the Company has extensive experience in Group Travel, the business has been particularly successful in tendering for and handling Incentive Travel, with Incentive groups of up to 800 passengers to South Africa.
